Job summary

Merck in Rahway, NJ is seeking a Senior Principal Scientist specializing in Breast Cancer to advance clinical development and translational research. The role emphasizes leadership in trial design, cross-functional collaboration, and strategic planning for oncology programs.

Qualifications

MD or MD/Ph.D. with medical/biomedical training and industry or senior academic experience.
Minimum 3 years of clinical medicine experience and 3+ years in drug development or related research.
Proven track record in clinical science, collaboration, and leadership within cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

Evaluate pre-clinical and translational work to guide INDs and early development plans.
Develop clinical strategies for Oncology drugs and plan trials and operational settings.
Monitor ongoing trials and summarize findings to support safety/efficacy decisions.
Lead internal/external teams and supervise Clinical Scientists in studies.
Collaborate with regulatory, statistics, manufacturing, and commercialization teams.
Attend scientific meetings and communicate progress to leadership and investigators.
