Merck & Co., Inc. in Rahway, NJ is seeking a Senior Director (Sr. Principal Scientist) to lead planning and directing clinical research activities in Oncology.

The role spans pre-clinical to post-licensure and manages study design, placement, monitoring, analysis, regulatory reporting and publication. You will supervise Clinical Scientists, collaborate with regulatory, statistics and manufacturing teams, and travel ~20% to advance clinical programs and external collaborations.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of clinical medicine experience.
• Minimum of 3 year of industry experience in drug development or biomedical research experience in academia.
• Board Certified or Eligible in Oncology

Responsibilities

• Planning and directing clinical research activities for Oncology medicines from pre-clinical to post-licensure.
• Supervise Clinical Scientists in execution of clinical studies.
• Collaborate with commercialization, regulatory affairs, statistics, and manufacturing to manage projects.
• Author development documents, budgets, and position papers for internal/external audiences.
• Travel about twenty percent of the time to manage clinical research projects.
