Job summary

FirstEnergy Corp seeks a Food Service Associate to own the café grill station, support breakfast and lunch service in a fast-paced setting, and ensure food safety and quality. Responsibilities include daily setup, cooking made-to-order items, inventory management, sanitation, and teamwork to deliver high-quality service while adhering to company standards and safety regulations.

You will plan specials, monitor inventory, rotate stock, assist with deliveries, and maintain an organized workspace.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of two (2) years of food service, culinary, hospitality, catering, or related experience required.
• Experience preparing and serving breakfast and lunch items in a fast-paced, high-volume food service environment preferred, with the ability to maintain quality, consistency, and customer service standards during peak service periods.
• ServSafe Manager Certification required or must be obtained within six (6) months of hire.
• Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of daily grill station operations, including breakfast and lunch setup, preparation, and backup production.
• Preparing and serving made-to-order breakfast and lunch items with a focus on safety, quality, consistency, and efficiency.
• Planning, ordering, and executing daily breakfast and lunch specials.
• Monitoring inventory levels and communicating product needs to leadership.
• Maintaining a clean, organized, and customer-focused work environment that complies with FDA Food Code regulations and company standards.
• Properly storing, rotating, labeling, and dating food products.
• Performing end-of-shift shutdown procedures and thoroughly cleaning all grill equipment and work surfaces.
• Proactively support leadership and coworkers by following established procedures and contributing to overall café operations and team success.
