Job summary

FirstEnergy in Akron, OH is seeking a Food Service Associate to run the café grill station, supporting breakfast and lunch in a fast-paced setting. You will prepare and serve made-to-order items, manage inventory, and ensure safety and sanitation while delivering exceptional customer service.

This role requires at least two years in food service, a high school diploma, and ServSafe certification (within six months).

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of two (2) years of food service, culinary, hospitality, catering, or related experience.
• Experience with breakfast and lunch in a high-volume setting preferred.
• ServSafe Manager Certification required or must be obtained within six months of hire.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel).
• Ability to research recipes and contribute to menu development.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Own daily grill station operations, including breakfast and lunch setup and backup production.
• Prepare and serve made-to-order breakfast and lunch items with safety, quality, and efficiency.
• Plan, order, and execute daily breakfast and lunch specials.
• Monitor inventory levels and communicate product needs to leadership.
• Maintain a clean, organized workspace compliant with FDA Food Code and company standards.
• Rotate, label, and date food products; ensure proper storage.
• Assist with receiving deliveries, inventory management, and procurement as needed.
• Perform end-of-shift shutdown procedures and thoroughly clean all grill equipment.
