Job summary

Hy-Vee is seeking a Breakfast Cook for the Market Grille to join a fast-paced kitchen team.
You will prep ingredients, assemble dishes, and keep the kitchen running smoothly from shift to shift.

You will greet customers, prepare items per recipes, maintain sanitation, and collaborate with colleagues to ensure excellent service. A high school diploma or equivalent is required, with prior similar work preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent experience required
• Six months or less of similar or related work experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide prompt, friendly customer service by greeting customers with a smile and making every interaction a positive one
• Prepare cooking surfaces and ready the kitchen for service
• Prepare vegetables, sides, meats, and breakfast foods according to recipes and specifications
• Place food in hot cases, monitor amounts, and refill as necessary throughout shift
• Prepare items for upcoming shifts to ensure a smooth transition
• Stay knowledgeable of all menu items and take guest orders as needed
• Order product and supplies when necessary or notify department head of needs
• Practice proper sanitation procedures and keep work area clean and organized
• Work with co-workers as a team to ensure customer satisfaction and a pleasant work environment
• Assist in other areas of the store as needed and take on special projects as assigned
• Maintain personal hygiene and store guidelines
• Report to work on schedule and on time
