Job summary

The Lincoln Marriott Cornhusker Hotel is currently seeking a Breakfast Cafe Server in Lincoln, Nebraska. You will greet guests, learn the menu, take and input orders into the POS, refill beverages, and maintain a clean service station to ensure guest satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Must have basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation and service of various alcoholic beverages.
• Ability to speak, read, and write English to communicate with guests, take orders, understand the menu, and promote specials.
• Ability to remember, recite, and promote a variety of menu items.
• Ability to transport trays through a crowded room on a continuous basis throughout shift.
• Must adhere to all liquor regulations pertaining to serving alcohol to minors and intoxicated guests.
• Maintain a positive attitude throughout shift and work as a team player.
• Ability to remain motivated during busy and slow periods within shift.
• Cash handling and self-banking: maintain funds and count back change.
• Ability to operate a keyboard and use POS procedures to pre-check orders and close checks.

Responsibilities

• Greets guests in a timely, friendly, and courteous manner.
• Takes orders, learns all menu items, and inputs orders into the POS system.
• Replenishes beverages and checks guest satisfaction.
• Maintains set‑up and cleanliness of the service station before, during, and after shift.
• Present the guest with the check and invite return in a friendly manner.
• Performs general cleaning tasks according to health standards.
• Works as a team player to ensure smooth service.
