Job summary

The Lincoln Marriott Cornhusker Hotel is currently seeking a Breakfast Cafe Server in Lincoln, Nebraska. You will greet guests, learn the menu, take and input orders into the POS, refill beverages, and maintain a clean service station to ensure guest satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Must have basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation and service of various alcoholic beverages.
• Ability to speak, read, and write English to communicate with guests, take orders, understand the menu, and promote specials.
• Ability to remember, recite, and promote a variety of menu items.
• Ability to transport trays through a crowded room on a continuous basis throughout shift.
• Must adhere to all liquor regulations pertaining to serving alcohol to minors and intoxicated guests.
• Maintain a positive attitude throughout shift and work as a team player.
• Ability to remain motivated during busy and slow periods within shift.
• Cash handling and self-banking: maintain funds and count back change.
• Ability to operate a keyboard and use POS procedures to pre-check orders and close checks.

What will you be doing?

• Greets guests in a timely, friendly, and courteous manner
• Must learn all menu items, take orders and input orders into Point of Sale system
• Replenishes beverages as requested, frequently checking back with guests to inquire about satisfaction
• Checks and maintains proper set‑up and cleanliness of service station before, during, and after shift
• Presents the guest with the check promptly, thanking them and inviting them to return in a friendly demeanor
• Performs general cleaning tasks, using standard cleaning products as assigned by your supervisor to adhere to health standards

What you will bring to the role?

• Must have basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation and service of various alcoholic beverages

• Must adhere to all State, Federal, and Corporate liquor regulations pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages to minors and intoxicated guests to ensure all laws are being followed
• Maintain a positive attitude throughout shift
• Work as a team player
• Ability to remain motivated during busy and slow periods within shift
• Cash handling and self‑banking position, requires ability to maintain funds and accurately count back change
• Ability to operate a keyboard and learn Point of Sale procedures to pre‑check an order and close out a check
