Job summary

Embassy Suites Cleveland Rockside is seeking a Breakfast Attendant to prepare the breakfast bar for hotel guests while greeting and serving them in a friendly manner aligned with brand standards.

Responsibilities include setting up displays, restocking, assisting guests, and maintaining cleanliness in the breakfast area. Must meet safety andfood-handling requirements and be available for varied shifts, including holidays and weekends.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of state, federal and corporate liquor regulations.
• Hold a current Food Handler Card.
• Basic knowledge of food and beverage preparations and service standards.
• Knowledge of appropriate table settings and service ware.
• Basic English to understand inquiries and give simple instructions.
• Ability to read product labeling instructions for safe use.
• Ability to remember and describe menu items.
• Ability to operate beverage equipment such as a coffee maker.

Job description

Embassy Suites Cleveland Rockside is looking for a Breakfast Attendant to prepare the breakfast bar for hotel guests while greeting and servicing them in a friendly manner consistent with brand and/or hotel and sustainability standards.

Your Focus

• Carry food, dishes, trays, or silverware from pantry to serving counters.
• Set up attractive food displays and maintain cleanliness to ensure food safety.
• Wipe tables or seats with dampened cloths.
• Scrape and stack dirty dishes and carry dishes and other tableware to kitchens for cleaning.
• Clean up spilled food, drink or broken dishes and remove trash.
• Maintain adequate supplies of items such as clean glassware, dishes, or trays.
• Fill beverage and ice dispensers.
• Stock cabinets or serving areas with condiments and refill condiment containers.
• Locate and provide items requested by guests.
• Clean and polish counters, shelves, walls, furniture, or equipment in pantry or breakfast area and mop or vacuum floors.
• Be aware of guest satisfaction scores and work toward increasing departmental and overall guest satisfaction.
• Practice safe work habits and use required safety equipment.
• Ensure overall guest satisfaction.
• Perform other duties as requested by management.
• Work schedule varies and may include working on holidays and weekends.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Knowledge of all State, Federal and Corporate liquor regulations pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages to minors and intoxicated guests.
• Hold a current Food Handler Card
• Must have basic knowledge of food and beverage preparations, service standards, guest relations and etiquette.
• Knowledge of the appropriate table settings and service ware.
• Basic knowledge of the English language sufficient to understand inquiries from customers and communicate simple instructions.
• Ability to comprehend and apply written product labelling instructions to enable the safe application of products and processes within the hotel.
• Ability to remember, recite and promote the variety of menu items.
• Ability to operate beverage equipment, e.g., coffee maker.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Ability to transport up to 30 lbs. through a crowded room on a continuous basis throughout the shift.
• Lifting Fifty (30) pounds maximum.
• Constant standing & walking required.
