Job summary

Embassy Suites Central Park is seeking a Breakfast Attendant to prepare the breakfast bar for hotel guests and greet them in a friendly, professional manner aligned with brand standards and sustainability goals.

Responsibilities include setting up displays, maintaining cleanliness and food safety, restocking supplies, assisting guests, and supporting food service operations. The role requires safe work habits, ability to lift up to 30 lbs, and availability on holidays and weekends.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of all State, Federal and Corporate liquor regulations pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages to minors and intoxicated guests.
  • Hold a current Food Handler Card
  • Must have basic knowledge of food and beverage preparations, service standards, guest relations and etiquette.
  • Knowledge of the appropriate table settings and service ware.
  • Basic knowledge of the English language sufficient to understand inquiries from customers and communicate simple instructions.
  • Ability to comprehend and apply written product labeling instructions to enable the safe application of products and processes within the hotel.
  • Ability to remember, recite and promote the variety of menu items.
  • Ability to operate beverage equipment, e.g., coffee maker.

  • Set up attractive food displays and maintain cleanliness to ensure food safety.
  • Wipe tables or seats with dampened cloths.
  • Scrape and stack dirty dishes and carry dishes and other tableware to kitchens for cleaning.
  • Clean up spilled food, drink or broken dishes and remove trash.
  • Maintain adequate supplies of items such as clean glassware, dishes, or trays.
  • Fill beverage and ice dispensers.
  • Stock cabinets or serving areas with condiments and refill condiment containers.
  • Locate and provide items requested by guests.
  • Clean and polish counters, shelves, walls, furniture, or equipment in pantry or breakfast area and mop or vacuum floors.
  • Be aware of guest satisfaction scores and work toward increasing departmental and overall guest satisfaction.
  • Practice safe work habits and use required safety equipment.
  • Ensure overall guest satisfaction.
  • Perform other duties as requested by management.
  • Work schedule varies and may include working on holidays and weekends.
