Overview

The Breakfast Attendant provides exceptional service to guests in an efficient and courteous manner within the hotel's complimentary breakfast area.

Responsibilities
  1. Approach all guest and employee interactions with attentiveness, friendliness, courtesy, and service orientation.
  2. Maintain a high standard of personal appearance and grooming, including proper uniform and name tag.
  3. Greet and seat guests promptly at appropriate tables.
  4. Ensure cleanliness and appearance of menus.
  5. Clear, clean, and reset tables and hotel spaces as per requests or management instructions.
  6. Keep service areas stocked, organized, clean, and neat; complete all side work each shift.
  7. Accommodate guest requests and offer suitable alternatives when necessary.
  8. Communicate with other departments regarding VIP guests.
  9. Support beverage and food service, including dishwashing, restocking, sweeping, mopping, and trash disposal.
  10. Understand standards for receiving room service orders.
  11. Have thorough knowledge of menus and specials.
  12. Handle cashiering duties, including closing checks and shift paperwork.
  13. Perform opening and closing procedures and side work duties as assigned.
  14. Answer questions about the hotel, local area, and attractions.
  15. Attend meetings and perform additional duties as requested.
  16. Produce high-quality drinks, including specialty coffee, tea, cocktails, and other beverages.
Qualifications
  1. Ability to perform tasks with attention to detail, speed, and accuracy.
  2. High School diploma or equivalent preferred; related experience is a plus.
  3. Willingness to work varied shifts, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
  4. Legal age to serve alcohol and pass responsible serving courses like TIPs.
  5. Ability to obtain and provide a Food Handler's card.
  6. Quick and accurate decision-making skills.
  7. Capable of handling stressful situations professionally.
  8. Understanding of hotel products and guest services.
  9. Effective communication skills with guests and team members.
  10. Positive attitude and a service-oriented mindset.
  11. Basic knowledge of food and beverage standards, guest relations, and etiquette.
  12. Basic math skills for operations.
  13. Ability to read, understand, and write simple instructions and memos.
  14. Patience, tact, and diplomacy in customer and staff interactions.
  15. Willingness to learn, support team members, and respond positively to guests and colleagues.
