Overview
The Breakfast Attendant provides exceptional service to guests in an efficient and courteous manner within the hotel's complimentary breakfast area.
Responsibilities
- Approach all guest and employee interactions with attentiveness, friendliness, courtesy, and service orientation.
- Maintain a high standard of personal appearance and grooming, including proper uniform and name tag.
- Greet and seat guests promptly at appropriate tables.
- Ensure cleanliness and appearance of menus.
- Clear, clean, and reset tables and hotel spaces as per requests or management instructions.
- Keep service areas stocked, organized, clean, and neat; complete all side work each shift.
- Accommodate guest requests and offer suitable alternatives when necessary.
- Communicate with other departments regarding VIP guests.
- Support beverage and food service, including dishwashing, restocking, sweeping, mopping, and trash disposal.
- Understand standards for receiving room service orders.
- Have thorough knowledge of menus and specials.
- Handle cashiering duties, including closing checks and shift paperwork.
- Perform opening and closing procedures and side work duties as assigned.
- Answer questions about the hotel, local area, and attractions.
- Attend meetings and perform additional duties as requested.
- Produce high-quality drinks, including specialty coffee, tea, cocktails, and other beverages.
Qualifications
- Ability to perform tasks with attention to detail, speed, and accuracy.
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred; related experience is a plus.
- Willingness to work varied shifts, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Legal age to serve alcohol and pass responsible serving courses like TIPs.
- Ability to obtain and provide a Food Handler's card.
- Quick and accurate decision-making skills.
- Capable of handling stressful situations professionally.
- Understanding of hotel products and guest services.
- Effective communication skills with guests and team members.
- Positive attitude and a service-oriented mindset.
- Basic knowledge of food and beverage standards, guest relations, and etiquette.
- Basic math skills for operations.
- Ability to read, understand, and write simple instructions and memos.
