Job summary

Des Moines Embassy Suites, part of Atrium Hospitality, seeks a part-time Breakfast Attendant to greet guests, maintain the breakfast area, and ensure a great start to the day in Des Moines, IA.

You will work with a friendly team, handle light food prep, restocking, and keep areas clean while following safety standards. Prior restaurant or customer service experience is helpful; training provided.

Qualifications

• No experience required; positive attitude and teamwork welcomed.
• Restaurant/customer service or cashier experience preferred.
• Food Safety and Alcohol Awareness certifications (or willingness to obtain within 60 days).
• Able to stand, walk, bend and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Flexible availability for days, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain complimentary breakfast and/or evening reception.
• Keep buffets, service areas, tables, and equipment clean and stocked.
• Greet guests with a friendly attitude and handle questions professionally.
• Assist with light food prep, restocking, bussing tables, or bar/service areas.
• Follow food safety and sanitation standards.
• Monitor food quality, storage, and temperatures.
• Work as part of a team to keep service running smoothly.
• Communicate updates during shift changes.
• Follow safety, security, and company policies.

What You Will Do:

• Set the stage for a great guest experience by preparing, presenting, and maintaining our complimentary breakfast and/or evening reception


• Keep everything clean, stocked, and guest-ready - buffets, service areas, tables, and equipment


• Greet guests with a friendly, helpful attitude and handle questions or concerns quickly and professionally


• Jump in where needed - whether that’s light food prep, restocking, bussing tables, or supporting bar/service areas


• Follow food safety and sanitation standards to ensure a safe, clean environment for guests and team members


• Monitor food quality, proper storage, and temperature standards throughout your shift


• Work as part of a team to keep service running smoothly and efficiently


• Communicate key updates during shift changes to keep everyone aligned


• Follow all safety, security, and company policies, and report any issues as needed

What We Are Looking For

• No experience? No problem! If you have a great attitude and love teamwork, we'll teach you the rest


• Restaurant, customer service, or cashier experience preferred
