Job summary

SpartanNash is hiring a Bread Production Associate at the Mishawaka Central Bakery. You will operate mixers, proof machines and bread equipment, ensuring products meet quality standards while following strict food-safety procedures.

Starting wage is $18.00 per hour with a schedule of Monday, Wednesday–Saturday, 12pm–1pm start, and regular overtime based on production needs. Commitment to safe, efficient, and accurate production is essential.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• Basic math and reading skills needed.
• Ability to work with deadlines and follow directions.
• Experience in production lines preferred.
• Weekend availability and some holidays required.

Responsibilities

• Operate bakery equipment, including mixers and proof machines.
• Learn mixing, baking and table work; ensure product quality.
• Follow sanitary food handling policies to prevent contamination.
• Set up equipment to form different bread shapes and sizes.
• Maintain cleanliness of work areas and equipment.

Must be able to learn mixing, baking, and table work. Make sure product is of good quality as it is trayed up. Flexible work schedule, weekend availability, occasional Tuesday, Sunday, and holidays are required.Physical Requirements:Ability to lift 50 lbs. Read and understands mix formulas, use a digital and balance scale. Run bread machines and keep count of dough in dividers. Set up of equipment to form different types and shapes of bread, put bread in pans or on trays and placing on racks for baking. Able to work independently and with others. Requires constant bending, stretching and good eye/hand coordination. Pulling and pushing carts filled with dough and mixes. Stand for long periods of time.Other Duties:Clean work areas. Wash all equipment, take out trash. Varies according to production needs, occasionally must work in other production areas.Environmental Conditions:Exposed to constant indoor temperatures of 75 degrees or higher.Noise: loud machines.
