Job summary

SpartanNash, Mishawaka location, is hiring a Bakery Associate to prepare, package, label and stock bakery products according to production plans and merchandising strategies. The role requires accuracy in weights and measures and adherence to safety and guest experience guidelines.

The ideal candidate will have a High School Diploma or GED, 1 year of retail experience preferred, and strong reading, writing and math skills. Training will cover PPE, food safety and cross-department teamwork.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write, comprehend and interpret documents.
• Basic mathematical skills.
• Detail oriented with accuracy when following recipes and weights.
• One year of retail or related experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and Produce Bakery Products to Production Planner.
• Package and Label Bakery Products per program plan.
• Merchandise Bakery Products per Flight plan/Merchandising Expectations.
• Stock Backroom with Bakery Products – Rotating and Dating Cases/Buckets.
• Notify the Bakery Manager if products and supplies need to be ordered.
• Work as a team with other departments and Stores to achieve growth.
• Understand basic functions of adding, subtracting, multiplying and division.
• Follow PPE and Safety Guidelines and Food Safety and Cleaning Expectations.
• Follow Guest Experience Guidelines.
• May be assigned tasks in other departments based on need.
