Job summary

Openwork is hiring Brazing Technicians for a Stafford, TX manufacturing team. Enjoy weekly pay and a Monday–Friday schedule with overtime as needed. This full-time, temp-to-hire role supports growing cooling systems production.

Ideal candidates have brazing experience in HVAC/refrigeration or related fields, with a strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail. High school diploma or GED preferred; recent grads are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous brazing experience in HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, or manufacturing preferred.
• Recent graduates from a trade or technical program are encouraged to apply.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings, blueprints, and work instructions.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
• Basic math and measuring skills.
• Ability to safely operate brazing equipment.
• Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret piping layouts, BOMs, and work instructions.
• Measure, cut, bend, deburr, clean, and prepare copper tubing for assembly.
• Assemble refrigeration piping and install components such as compressors, service valves, filter driers, expansion valves, receivers, accumulators, and pressure switches.
• Perform high-quality brazing of copper-to-copper and copper-to-brass joints.
• Protect heat-sensitive components and purge refrigeration circuits with dry nitrogen during brazing.
• Inspect brazed joints for quality, strength, and workmanship.
• Identify and report defects, damaged materials, or quality concerns.
• Assist with pressure testing, leak testing, and quality verification.
• Follow all safety, quality, and manufacturing procedures.

Pay: Up to $23.00 per hour (based on experience) | Weekly Pay

Schedule: Monday–Friday | 7:30 AM – 3:00 PM

Overtime: Saturdays | 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM (as needed)
