DBM Global Inc. is seeking a skilled Brazer to join our team. The ideal candidate will braze 2-inch copper pipe systems for commercial and industrial applications with precision and adherence to safety and quality standards.

You will read blueprints, select appropriate flux and filler metals, and coordinate with the project team to meet schedules. OSHA/commercial codes familiarity is required.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2–3 years brazing copper pipe experience (2 inch).
  • Proficiency with oxy‑acetylene torches and/or air‑acetylene.
  • Knowledge of copper pipe fittings, flux application, heat control.
  • Ability to read technical drawings and specifications.
  • Strong commitment to safety and quality workmanship.

Responsibilities

  • Perform brazing operations on 2-inch copper pipe systems per specs and standards.
  • Prepare pipe ends and fittings by cleaning, deburring, and applying flux.
  • Select and apply brazing alloys suitable for copper piping (e.g., BCuP, BAg).
  • Operate torches safely to achieve proper brazing temperatures.
  • Inspect joints visually and via pressure testing for leaks and quality.
  • Read blueprints, isometrics, and piping schematics.
  • Follow ASME, OSHA, and local codes.
  • Maintain a clean, safe work area and coordinate with trades to meet schedules.

Job description

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Brazer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have


demonstrated proficiency in brazing 2-inch copper pipe systems for commercial and industrial


applications. This position requires precision workmanship, a strong understanding of brazing


metallurgy, and adherence to applicable safety and quality standards.


Reports To: Lead Technician / Field Supervisor


Key Responsibilities


  • Perform brazing operations on 2-inch copper pipe systems in accordance with project specifications and industry standards

  • Prepare pipe ends and fittings by cleaning, deburring, and applying appropriate flux prior to

  • Select and use proper brazing alloys and filler materials suitable for copper piping systems (e.g., BCuP, BAg alloys)

  • Operate oxy-acetylene or air-acetylene torch equipment safely and proficiently to achieve proper brazing temperatures

  • Inspect completed brazed joints visually and via pressure testing to ensure leak-free, high-quality connections

  • Read and interpret blueprints, isometric drawings, and piping schematics

  • Follow all applicable codes including ASME, OSHA, and local building/mechanical codes

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment at all times

  • Coordinate with other trades and team members to meet project schedules


Required Qualifications


  • Minimum 2–3 years of hands‑on brazing experience with copper pipe, specifically 2-inch diameter

  • Proficiency with oxy-acetylene and/or air-acetylene torches

  • Strong understanding of copper pipe fitting types (elbows, tees, couplings, reducers)

  • Knowledge of proper flux application, heat control, and filler metal flow

  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications

  • Strong commitment to safety and quality workmanship


Preferred Qualifications


  • AWS (American Welding Society) certification or equivalent brazing qualification

  • Experience in HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, or industrial piping environments

  • Journeyman Plumber or HVAC/R certification a plus

  • Experience with nitrogen purging during brazing for system cleanliness


Physical Requirements


  • Ability to work in confined spaces, at heights, and in varying temperature conditions

  • Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and standing for extended periods

  • Willingness to wear required PPE including safety glasses, gloves, and flame-resistant clothing
