Job summary

Modine Manufacturing Company in Grand Prairie, TX is seeking a skilled Brazer to join our production team, building high‑quality chillers for data centers. You will brazing copper and other metals, read blueprints, set up torches, and ensure leak‑proof joints in a fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate has 1+ year brazing/welding experience, comfort with oxy-acetylene torches, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, work instructions, and safety guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Perform brazing and soldering of copper, brass, and other metal components in chiller fabrication.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and drawings for proper assembly.
• Set up, adjust, and operate brazing torches and related equipment for strong, leak-proof joints.
• Inspect joints for quality assurance per company and industry standards.
• Collaborate with welders, assemblers, and quality control to maintain efficiency and accuracy.
• Follow safety protocols for torches, gases, and hazardous materials.
• Keep a clean, organized work area ensuring 5S/lean manufacturing compliance.
• Report defects, shortages, or equipment malfunctions to supervisor/maintenance.
• Participate in continuous improvement to enhance product quality and processes.

We are seeking a skilled Brazer to join our manufacturing team in producing high‑quality chillers for data centers. The Brazer will be responsible for assembling and joining copper and other metal components using brazing techniques to ensure the integrity and efficiency of our cooling systems. This position requires precision, attention to detail, and adherence to safety and quality standards in a fast‑paced production environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform brazing and soldering of copper, brass, and other metal components in the fabrication of chiller assemblies.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to ensure proper assembly.
• Set up, adjust, and operate brazing torches and related equipment to achieve strong, leak‑proof joints.
• Inspect joints for quality assurance, ensuring all work meets company and industry standards.
• Work closely with welders, assemblers, and quality control teams to maintain production efficiency and accuracy.
• Follow all safety protocols, including the proper handling of torches, gases, and other hazardous materials.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring compliance with 5S and lean manufacturing principles.
• Identify and report any defects, material shortages, or equipment malfunctions to the supervisor or maintenance team.
• Participate in continuous improvement efforts to enhance product quality and manufacturing processes.

Required Education & Qualifications

• 1+ years of brazing/welding experience in a manufacturing industry.
• Proficiency in using oxy‑acetylene torches and other brazing equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, work instructions, and safety guidelines.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to perform quality inspections.
• Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and work in various positions (standing bending, kneeling, etc.) for extended periods.
• Knowledge of safety regulations, including proper handling of gases and personal protective equipment (PPE).

Education Requirements

• High school diploma of GED required; technical certification in brazing or welding preferred.
