Job summary

Kennametal Inc. is seeking a Braze Operator I in Bedford, PA.

The role involves brazing carbide tips onto steel bodies using induction heating, with responsibility for visual inspections and meeting production targets on the 1st shift (7:00 AM–3:00 PM, Mon–Fri). The position requires a high school diploma or GED, basic math and blueprint reading skills, and the ability to understand written and oral instructions while communicating with supervisors and coworkers.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Basic math, blueprint reading and gauge-reading comprehension.
• Ability to understand written and oral instructions and communicate with supervisors and coworkers.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-operation checks for machines and work area.
• Assemble conical bit bodies, braze material, and carbide tips.
• Operate braze line to meet daily production rates.
• Inspect parts to ISO requirements.
• Support functions and change-overs to meet due dates.
• Track materials and optimize equipment use to reduce cost.
• Perform daily TPM and 5S in the work area.
• Record data on production and quality metrics.
