Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Basic math, blueprint reading and gauge-reading training completed.
• Able to understand written and oral instructions and communicate with supervisors and coworkers.
• At least three years of turning, milling, or Bar & Chucking Machine Operator experience.
• Certification as a Journeyman or current enrollment in an Apprentice Machinist Program is preferred.
• Analytical skills, commitment to excellence, and strong teamwork are essential.

Responsibilities

• Set-up and perform machining operations on CNC machines.
• Select cutters, adjust feeds and speeds, and replace dull cutters as needed.
• Make machine set-ups when standard procedures are not established.
• Operate two or more CNC machines simultaneously and run programs with minor adjustments.
• Suggest and implement major CNC program changes and efficiency improvements.
• Inspect parts to meet ISO requirements and process shop orders to meet due dates.
• Manage materials and use lean practices; perform TPM and 5S activities as required.
