Job summary

Kennametal Inc. in Bedford, PA, is seeking a Braze Operator I to braze carbide tips onto steel bodies on Automatic Braze lines. You will perform safety checks, inspect components, and ensure production targets are met with attention to quality.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, basic math, blueprint reading, and strong communication with supervisors. Two weeks PTO and subsidized healthcare start on day one.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Basic math, blueprint reading and gauge-reading comprehension.
• Ability to understand written and oral instructions and communicate with supervisors and coworkers.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-operation checks and safety inspections for machines and workspace.
• Assemble conical bit bodies, braze material, and carbide tips; operate braze line to meet daily production rates.
• Inspect parts to meet ISO requirements and ensure quality.
• Support change-overs and functions to meet due dates.
• Track materials used and seek ways to reduce cost and waste.
• Manage WIP and components; perform cycle counts as required.
• Participate in lean events and TPM/5S activities; record data accurately.
