Job summary

The Salvation Army in Dodge City, KS is seeking a part-time Music Program Instructor to work with children and adults within the corps and community. You will plan and implement a music curriculum, teach theory and performance skills, and help instill the program's values.

You will lead music and arts programs, organize rehearsals and recitals, encourage skill development, coordinate community performances, and support outreach through summer camps and events.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's degree in music preferred, or extensive experience teaching music.
• Experience: A minimum of two years’ music experience working with children/adults.
• Certifications/Licenses: None.

Responsibilities

• Lead music and arts programs within the corps as assigned, planning weekly lessons.
• Plan and attend recitals and help prepare the corps music programs for performances.
• Encourage participants toward goals, developing musical skills and self-esteem.
• Organize performances and community activities to promote the mission.
• Support summer camps and participation in divisional/camp programs.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.
