Job summary

The Salvation Army North & Central Illinois Division is seeking a music program leader in Saint Joseph, MO to work with children and adults in the corps and community. You will plan and teach a curriculum covering theory, performance, and values, and guide learners toward musical growth.

You will organize recitals, support summer programs, and help promote the Mission in local activities, collaborating with corps leadership and serving as a positive role model.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in music preferred, or extensive experience teaching music.
• Minimum of two years’ music experience working with children/adults.
• Performance experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead music and arts programs within the corps and plan weekly lesson curricula.
• Plan and attend recitals and prep the corps music programs for year-end concert.
• Encourage participants to develop musical abilities, self-esteem and pride.
• Organize performances and community activities to promote the corps' mission.
• Support participation in summer camps and divisional music programs.
• All other duties as assigned.
