Job summary

Tapestry, Inc. is seeking an attorney to protect Coach and Kate Spade New York brands through trademark clearance, prosecution, and enforcement worldwide. This role partners with cross-functional teams to safeguard brand equity and mitigate risk in a fast-paced consumer goods environment.

The position requires NY or NJ bar admission and 3–5 years of IP experience, with a hands-on mindset and ability to manage external counsel. Located in New York, with strong collaboration across regions.

Qualifications

• J.D. degree from a fully accredited law school.
• Admitted to the New York or New Jersey Bar.
• 3–5 years of substantive trademark, copyright, design patent, and brand protection experience.
• Able to independently handle clearance, prosecution, and enforcement matters.
• Experience advising marketing or product teams in a high-volume environment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct clearance reviews for names, designs, artwork, and packaging.
• Participate in seasonal legal walkthroughs with design teams.
• Manage global trademark prosecution and portfolio maintenance.
• Handle routine IP enforcement matters including watch notices and cease-and-desist.
• Support global brand protection across NA markets and coordinate with enforcement vendors.
• Provide training and supervision of IP interns and externs.
• Contribute to portfolio reporting and KPI metrics.
• Support regional legal teams on IP matters in their markets.
