Tapestry, Inc. is seeking an attorney to serve as a trusted legal advisor for a broad IP portfolio across Coach and kate spade new york.

You will advise on clearance, prosecution, enforcement, and brand protection worldwide, collaborating with design, marketing, and product teams to mitigate risk and safeguard brand equity. The role covers global trademark management, CID actions, and coordination with international counsel, with opportunities to develop programs and mentor interns within a

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school and admission to the New York or New Jersey Bar.
• 3–5 years of substantive trademark, copyright, design patent, and brand protection experience.
• Ability to independently manage trademark clearance, prosecution, and enforcement matters and communicate risk to non-lawyers.
• Experience advising marketing, creative, or product teams in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment.
• Experience managing outside counsel on assigned matters.

Responsibilities

• Conduct clearance reviews for names, designs, artwork, prints, packaging, and campaigns, with risk assessments and go/no-go recommendations.
• Participate in seasonal legal walkthroughs with design teams.
• Manage global trademark prosecution, including office actions and renewals, with foreign counsel.
• Handle routine contentious matters including cease-and-desist, oppositions, and cancellations.
• Support brand protection and enforcement across North and South America, including takedowns and domain name actions.
