Job summary

Athens Services seeks a Director of Marketing and Communications to lead the company’s strategic marketing and communications initiatives in the United States. You will shape brand voice, guide stakeholder engagement, and align internal messaging with executive priorities.

Reporting to the Senior Executive Vice President, you will manage a team, drive integrated campaigns, measure performance with KPIs, and partner across departments to elevate brand visibility and community relationships.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 8+ years in marketing/communications with at least 3 years in leadership.
• Experience in integrated marketing programs, brand standards, media relations, and digital.
• Proven ability to supervise and manage multiple projects.
• Excellent writing, editing, and presentation skills.
• Strong planning, project management, and budget management.
• Experience with digital and social platforms and analytics.
• Experience with crisis communications in partnership with leadership.
• Collaborates across departments; industry experience in environmental services or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement annual marketing and communications plans aligned with senior leadership.
• Lead and develop the marketing and communications team; set priorities and ensure timely delivery.
• Establish KPIs for campaigns and report results to leadership.
• Maintain relationships with media, stakeholders, and internal teams.
• Plan campaigns and content across traditional and digital channels to raise visibility.
• Maintain brand standards across materials, digital platforms, and communications.
• Oversee website content, social media, campaigns, and editorial calendars; use data to improve engagement.
• Partner across departments to support business and community needs.
• Coordinate crisis communications and media responses under senior leadership.
• Manage budgets, agencies, and vendors to deliver projects on scope and cost.
