Branch Service Manager - Westlake / Austin, TX

We are looking for a seasoned and energetic Branch Service Manager to lead our Westlake Banking Center in Austin, TX. This role involves managing daily operation and ensuring top-notch customer service. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in banking operations, strong leadership skills, and a proven track record in customer relationship management.

This position will report directly to the Branch Manager.

Essential Functions:

  1. Manage the banking center service, operations, and sales functions to achieve the strategic goals of the banking center in coordination with the Branch Manager.
  2. Perform the following tasks and/or regularly makes substantially weighted recommendations regarding interviewing, selecting, hiring, performance evaluations, advancement, and termination of employees.
  3. Conduct training and coaching to include mentoring employees.
  4. Provide leadership and training for the sale and referral of bank products and services.
  5. Resolve and respond to client service concerns, complex client complaints and questions.
  6. Direct the work of managed employees to include scheduling and setting hours.
  7. Maintain production or sales records for use in supervision and/or performance management of employees, appraises employee productivity and efficiency.
  8. Recommend promotions or other changes in employee status, handles employee complaints and grievances, disciplines employees, apportions the work and determines the approaches used by employees to do assigned tasks.
  9. Oversee compliance with adherence to safety and security protocols. Monitor and/or implement legal compliance measures, ensuring the banking center is following all bank policies and procedures.
  10. Monitor and ensure compliance with policy and the company’s risk appetite. Implement management procedures and operating practices and commits to the banking center in matters of significant financial impact.
  11. Approve teller transactions as needed.
  12. Prepare the banking center for audits and works with audit staff to resolve any concerns identified.
  13. Provide sales leadership, through their own production, as well as the oversight of sales and services tasks. Work closely with key partners to achieve sales and service objectives and maintain operational integrity.
  14. Use their discretion to perform approvals and overrides within their authority.
  15. Be involved in planning long/short-term operational, sales, and customer experience goals.
  16. Investigate and research operational issues, loss, fraud and resolve complex and/or significant matters on behalf of the company.
  17. Represent the banking center in handling complaints, arbitrating disputes, or resolving grievances.
  18. Process cash transactions and perform other customer service and sales duties within the banking center as needed and use discretion to determine when to perform these additional functions.
  19. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  1. High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  2. A minimum of 5 years’ experience in banking or financial services, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
  3. Proficient knowledge of lending processes and procedures, including underwriting, loan origination, and documentation.
  4. Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
  5. Excellent customer service skills, with a focus on building and maintaining relationships with clients and ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
  6. Proficiency in financial management, sales techniques, and banking products and services.
  7. Knowledge of banking regulations, compliance requirements, and industry best practices.
  8. Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with customers, employees, and senior management.
  9. Problem-solving and decision-making skills, with a focus on identifying and resolving issues to achieve business objectives.
  10. Attention to detail and organizational skills with the ability to multitask, prioritize tasks, and work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  11. Familiarity with banking software and systems for managing transactions, customer accounts, and branch operations.

Hours:

  1. Monday through Friday: 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM
  2. Saturday: 8:30 AM to 1:30 PM

This is a full-time position: 40.00 hours per week. Must be able to work a flexible schedule within the hours listed above, to include the ability to work Saturdays, when required.
