Job summary

STATE DEPARTMENT FEDERAL CREDIT UNION is seeking a Branch Sales Manager to lead branch performance, culture, and strategic direction. You will drive sustainable growth, deliver exceptional member experiences, and ensure operational excellence across branch functions.

You will oversee daily operations, coach staff, strengthen member relationships, manage the branch budget, and work with internal teams to meet financial, service, and compliance goals while maintaining high standards of member

Qualifications

  • Minimum three years in credit union or related financial services.
  • Two years of supervisory/management experience in sales and service.
  • Knowledge of credit union policies and cash handling procedures.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Leads branch staff through hiring, onboarding, coaching, performance management and development.
  • Oversees daily branch operations for efficient workflows and policy adherence.
  • Maintains knowledge of products and promotions to support staff and members.
  • Ensures high-quality member service across all product lines and channels.
  • Responds to member concerns and resolves issues within guidelines.
  • Monitors cash operations, balancing and reconciliation with security compliance.
  • Partners with internal departments to maintain records and manage risk.
  • Communicates updates and priorities through staff meetings and ongoing briefings.
  • Manages the branch budget and expenses to meet financial goals.

This role is accountable for driving sustainable growth, delivering exceptional member experience, and ensuring operational excellence across all branch functions. The manager oversees daily operations, develops and coaches employees, strengthens member relationships, and ensures the branch meets or exceeds financial, service, compliance, and productivity goals.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Leads all branch staff through effective hiring, onboarding, coaching, performance management, and professional development.Assigns responsibilities, delegates appropriately, and builds employee capability to ensure strong operational coverage and future leadership readiness.Oversees daily branch operations to ensure efficient workflows, accurate transaction processing, and consistent adherence to policies, procedures and regulatory requirements.Maintains comprehensive knowledge of all credit union products,services, and promotions to support staff effectiveness and member engagement.Ensures high-quality member service across all product lines, including deposit accounts, lending services, digital banking, and specialized offerings.Responds to member concerns, exercises decision-making authority within established guidelines, and ensures timely resolution of issues. .Monitors branch cash operations, including ordering, balancing, reconciliation, and compliance with security and audit standards.Partners with internal departments such as Enterprise Knowledge Solutions, Audit, and Collections to maintain accurate records, resolve discrepancies, and support risk-mitigation efforts.Communicates operational updates, performance expectations, and organizational priorities through regular staff meetings and ongoing communication.Manages the branch budget, monitors expenses, and contributes to achieving financial, operations, and member-experience goals.Supports training initiatives by observing staff interactions, providing coaching, and ensuring consistent service delivery standards.Required Skills and Competencies:Minimum three years of experience with a credit union or related financial services company, with at least two years of supervisory or management experience in leading, motivating and developing a successful sales and service team.Associate’s degree in finance or related field, or an equivalent level of professional experienceKnowledge of general financial institution policies and procedures.Cash management experience.Excellent organizational skills.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
