Job summary

State Employees Credit Union of New Mexico is seeking an Assistant Branch Manager I to support branch operations, assume responsibility in the branch manager's absence, interview loan applicants, process applications, and decide loans based on credit history analysis.

This on-site role supervises branch staff, trains personnel, develops procedures, ensures compliance with regulations, and helps members achieve their financial goals by advising on relevant products and services.

Qualifications

• Associates degree preferred or equivalent industry experience.
• At least three years of branch experience with at least one year of supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Train and supervise staff.
• Develop, apply and evaluate department policies and procedures.
• Analyze and complete monthly department reports.
• Ensure compliance with share draft rules and regulations.
• Coach members to achieve financial goals and suggest suitable products.
• Maintain knowledge of bank products and policies.
• Cross-sell services and ensure staff are cross-trained.
• Evaluate performance of subordinates and enforce policies.
• Be backup to Operations Supervisor for cash availability.
• Interview loan applicants and assist with loan applications.
• Pull and evaluate credit reports; approximate monthly debt payments.
• Approve/deny loans and explain reasons for denial.
• Prepare loan documentation for closing and assist closing.
• Attend training on compliance issues (BSA, Reg P, Patriot Act).
• Perform all other assigned duties.
