Job summary

CommunityAmerica Federal Credit Union seeks a Branch Mortgage Loan Officer to serve as the residential mortgage expert across our branch network, guiding members from pre-qualification to closing and aligning loan products with their long-term financial goals.

The role focuses on nurturing internal referrals, building external partnerships in the local community, delivering thorough financial consultations, and ensuring regulatory compliance throughout the loan lifecycle.

Qualifications

• High school degree or equivalent; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• 1–3 years of Retail Banking or Mortgage experience preferred.
• Excellent communication, public speaking, negotiations, and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of mortgage regulations and compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary mortgage contact for assigned branches, partnering daily with staff to identify members with home financing needs.
• Follow up on, track, and convert warm internal leads and cross-sell opportunities generated by branch personnel.
• Educate branch staff on mortgage products, promotions, and qualification criteria to optimize referral pipelines.
• Attend local networking events, open houses, and community functions to build a referral network and drive external loan volume.
• Conduct thorough financial consultations with members to analyze credit profiles, income, DTI, and asset documentation.
• Recommend appropriate mortgage loan products to help borrowers meet long-term goals.
• Maintain clear communication with borrowers, branch partners, real estate agents, and processing/underwriting teams throughout the loan lifecycle.
• Ensure a seamless member experience by managing expectations and resolving issues from pre-approval to closing.
• Identify opportunities to refer borrowers to internal partners for additional services (retail, investments, insurance).
• Monitor local real estate market conditions and regulatory changes to identify growth opportunities.
• Maintain knowledge of RESPA, TRID, and fair lending laws to ensure compliant origination.
• Aim to meet or exceed monthly and annual production goals.
