Job summary

Arbor/Metals Inc. is seeking a Branch Manager to lead operations, sales, and safety at our Dallas-area location. You will drive performance, manage inventories, and oversee staff development while coordinating with Sales, Purchasing and Finance to hit targets in gross profit, inventory accuracy and customer satisfaction.

You will oversee HR processes, ensure policy compliance, and maintain a productive, safe workplace with a focus on continuous improvement and cost control.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business or operations-related field.
• MBA is a plus.
• Financial management and budgeting skills are required.
• Experience in metals distribution is a plus.
• Three years of Sales Management experience preferred.
• Two years of Operations/Operations Management experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Safety of all employees; participate in Corporate Safety committee. Coordinates with Operations Manager and Corporate Safety Director on metrics to improve safety.
• HR and Performance evaluations; coordinate with local managers to ensure evaluations and goal setting with two-way feedback, sign-off by manager, ensure compliance with HR policies.
• Sales: visit top customers periodically to address issues related to Branch Manager responsibilities.
• Quality: ensure plant and equipment are maintained; coordinate with VP of quality on metrics.
• Productivity: measure with metrics (financials, pick count, OT, production reports) as directed by CFO.
• P&L: responsible for branch profitability and asset utilization.
• Credit: operate within credit approvals; coordinate with Credit Manager.
• Inventory: manage total inventory, forecast levels, coordinate purchasing.
• Expense management: approve expenses per financial plan; leverage corporate buying programs.
• Capex: manage budgeted expenditures; HQ assistance where needed.
• Profit Sharing Meetings: conduct quarterly town hall and share branch performance.
• Best practices: adopt across branches for continuity.
• Hire/Fire: authority to hire/terminate per HR guidelines; seek HR guidance as needed.
• Company interest over branch: decisions favor company-wide interests.
