Job description

The Branch Manager is responsible for the overall management and daily operations of the credit union branch. This position provides leadership to branch staff, delivers exceptional member experience, ensures operational efficiency and accuracy, and supports the credit union’s sales, service, and growth objectives. The Branch Manager is responsible for maintaining compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, policies, and procedures.

  • Branch Leadership & Staff Management – Lead, coach, and develop branch employees; establish performance expectations; conduct staff meetings and performance evaluations; and promote teamwork, accountability, and a positive work environment.
  • Member Service & Relationship Management – Ensure members receive professional, courteous, and efficient service. Resolve member concerns and build strong relationships that support member retention, satisfaction, and loyalty.
  • Branch Operations – Oversee daily branch operations, including cash controls, balancing, vault and security procedures, opening and closing, staffing, scheduling, and operational efficiency. Ensure accurate and timely completion of all branch activities.
  • Lending & Business Development – Promote the credit union’s loan and deposit products and services. Identify member needs, generate referrals, support lending activities, and develop relationships within the branch’s community and market area.
  • Compliance & Risk Management – Ensure compliance with credit union policies, procedures, NCUA regulations, BSA/AML requirements, security protocols, and other applicable laws and regulations. Maintain appropriate internal controls and promptly address operational or compliance concerns.
  • Performance & Financial Results – Monitor branch performance, including deposits, loans, account growth, service quality, and other established goals. Develop and implement strategies to achieve branch objectives and contribute to the overall success of the credit union.
  • Community & Credit Union Representation – Represent the credit union professionally in the community, participate in business development and community activities, and promote the credit union’s mission, products, services, and brand.
  • Core Competencies to include Leadership, Member Service, Communication, Sales & Business Development, Compliance, Problem Solving, Teamwork, and Accountability.
Other Duties:
  • Represent HCFCU in community events, as appropriate.
  • Actively participate in HCFCU functions.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • At least 7 years of previous branch management experience required.Previous Sales Management experience, to include but not limited to effective profiling and building member relationships preferred.
  • Must be able to effectively and professionally communicate (both in written and oral form) to both internal customers and external members.
  • Works effectively under pressure to meet critical deadlines and make sound decisions.
