Job summary

Capital Electric in Alexandria, VA is seeking a Branch Manager to oversee sales, administration and operations at the Alexandria branch. You will lead branch staff, drive profitability, manage inventory, and implement market growth strategies while ensuring safety and excellent customer service.

The role emphasizes leadership, budgeting, and cross-functional collaboration in a fast-paced distribution environment within the Sonepar group.

Qualifications

• 4-year college degree with an emphasis on business or related field.
• Extensive knowledge of electrical products and distribution industry with a minimum of 4 years of industry-related experience.
• Experience working with Eclipse ERP is preferred.
• 2-3 years supervisory/training experience.
• Proven leadership and organization skills.
• Ability to lift and carry heavy objects, up to 50 lbs., occasionally more.
• Reliable, responsible, and a great work ethic.

Responsibilities

• Anticipate, meet, and exceed customer needs and expectations with urgency.
• Use selling skills and account management to grow market share.
• Provide leadership to projects and sales staff to grow customer base and margins.
• Manage day-to-day branch administration and operations.
• Oversee logistics and inventory management for the branch.
• Maintain branch inventories and re-ordering.
• Provide direction and leadership in setting priorities and fostering energetic, entrepreneurial attitude.
• Support cross-team cooperation and local market insights.
