Job summary

ALS Minerals in Tucson is seeking a facilities manager to supervise the sample preparation plant, lead a dedicated team, and ensure safe, efficient operations. You will coordinate production, logistics, and quality control while meeting financial targets and driving continuous improvement.

Strong leadership, clear communication, and a background in geology or chemistry are essential. The role involves shift oversight and engagement with health and safety programs, audits, and staff development

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years management or supervisory experience in a production, manufacturing, industrial or laboratory environment.
  • Post-Secondary Education ( Diploma or Degree in Geological or Chemical Sciences preferred).
  • Experience in the Mining, Minerals, or geology industries preferred.
  • Excellent command of the English language, strong written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to lead, motivate and develop a team while ensuring safety and quality.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the branch and personnel for the minerals sample preparation facility in Tucson, ensuring production, workflow coordination, and sample logistics.
  • Meet or exceed financial targets including Net Revenue, EBIT, and ROSE and manage on-site human resources, scheduling, and employee relations.
  • Promote safety culture, uphold health and safety policies, and ensure quality program mandates and audits are completed.
  • Recruit, train, and develop staff; manage performance, attendance, and escalations; supervise shift coverage (day, afternoon, graveyard).
  • Maintain quality documentation and ensure adherence to established procedures for analytical quality.
