Job summary

ALS is seeking a Sample Preparation Technician to join the Sample Preparation Department. You will work with client samples, performing ringing, sieving, crushing and splitting under supervision, and you will load and unload drying ovens while maintaining production logs.

General cleaning and basic layout assistance support day-to-day lab operations. The role emphasizes safety, accurate documentation, and teamwork in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Ability to sit/stand for long periods and work in a hot, dusty environment.
• Manual dexterity for repetitive tasks.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs; occasional heavier with assistance.

Responsibilities

• Ringing, sieving (including International Soils), crushing, splitting under direct supervision.
• Loading and unloading drying ovens under supervision.
• Maintain own production logs; general cleaning to keep lab clean.
• May assist with layout duties/tasks; inspect equipment and report adjustments as needed.
