Job summary

Resawn Lumber in Santa Rosa, CA is seeking a hands-on Branch Manager to run the day-to-day operations.

You will lead staff, manage counter sales, coordinate inventory, and build relationships with contractors to grow branch sales and service. This role blends operations with sales growth and requires strong leadership and customer focus.

Qualifications

• Experience in counter sales, parts, contractor supply, electrical supply, plumbing/HVAC supply, auto/equipment parts, warehouse operations, or a similar business.
• Leadership, supervisory, assistant management, or management experience preferred.
• Strong customer service and sales skills.
• Ability to manage employees and daily operations.
• Comfortable working both behind the counter and in the yard.
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs and assist with loading materials.
• Forklift experience is a plus; training can be provided.
• Bilingual English/Spanish highly preferred.
• Fencing or fencing-material experience is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily branch operations and employees.
• Handle counter sales, customer orders, quotes, payments, and cash transactions.
• Build relationships with contractors and repeat customers.
• Manage employee timecards and submit payroll to the Controller.
• Maintain employee schedules and make adjustments when needed.
• Manage inventory counts, organization, and reporting.
• Receive and verify incoming material.
• Coordinate purchasing and inventory needs with ownership.
• Complete daily bank deposits.
• Open and close the location as needed.
• Maintain a clean and organized counter, warehouse, and yard.
• Assist with loading customer orders when needed.
• Operate company vehicles for deliveries or branch needs when necessary.
• Work directly with the Owner and Regional Manager.
• Help hire and train additional employees as the branch grows.
• Develop new business with local fencing contractors and other potential customers.

Branch Manager

Resawn Lumber – Santa Rosa, CA

Pay: $40,000–$80,000 per year, depending on experience, with potential for additional sales-based bonuses.

Resawn Lumber is hiring a hands-on Branch Manager for our Santa Rosa location.

This is not a traditional lumberyard manager position. Our operation is closer to a contractor supply or parts house focused on fence boards and fencing materials. Extensive lumber or milling knowledge is not required.

We are looking for someone who can manage the day-to-day branch operation, lead employees, handle counter sales, maintain inventory, and help grow our customer base.

Sales & Growth

This is both an operations and sales position.

The Branch Manager will initially focus on running the location, counter sales, customer service, inventory, and developing the existing staff.

As the team grows, the manager will spend more time developing outside sales—meeting local fencing contractors, building relationships, following up with potential customers, and bringing new accounts into Resawn Lumber.

Schedule

Monday–Friday: Approximately 7:00 AM–3:30 PM

Saturday: Availability as needed; typically a half day

Compensation

$40,000–$80,000 per year, depending on experience

Additional sales-based bonus opportunities may be available as the Branch Manager develops new customers and grows branch sales.
