Job summary

The City of Springfield’s East Forest Park Branch Library is seeking a Branch Supervisor to help manage daily operations, serve patrons, and deliver public programs.

You will supervise a team, coordinate schedules, and respond to facility needs while maintaining a high level of public service and engagement within the library’s programs and community initiatives.

The position requires MLS, a user-focused approach, and bilingual abilities are desirable; residency requirements apply.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree plus MLS from an ALA-accredited program.
• Excellent customer service orientation and community engagement mindset.
• Turned outward approach to community engagement ideal.
• Bilingual abilities desirable (English and Spanish, Russian, Vietnamese, etc.).
• Experience with staff supervision and training.

Responsibilities

• Assist Branch Manager in day-to-day operations.
• Engage with the community and provide direct public service.
• Create schedules, plan and deliver public programs.
• Staff the branch daily and report facility problems.
