Job summary

Kent District Library is seeking a Branch Librarian to deliver professional reference services, information resources, and program support across branches. Responsibilities include assisting patrons, conducting research, managing collections, and promoting digital resources.

The ideal candidate holds a Master of Library Science or equivalent, demonstrates strong interpersonal skills, and can work flexible hours including evenings and weekends to serve diverse communities in Kent County.

Qualifications

• Master's in Library Science or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Ability to travel between work locations as needed.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide reference and information services to patrons; interpret patron needs.
• Assist patrons in locating materials and using databases and ILS.
• Conduct interlibrary loans and manage circulation tasks.
• Support and promote library programs and community initiatives.
• Assist in maintaining and organizing the collection and displays.
• Provide basic tech support and tutoring to patrons and staff.
• Develop and deliver workshops or training sessions as needed.
