Tompkins Bank & Trust in Ithaca, NY seeks an experienced Branch Manager to lead a full-service branch. You will oversee operations, lending, product sales, and customer service while ensuring regulatory compliance and risk controls.

You will drive business development by expanding small business banking relationships, strengthening the Tompkins brand in the local community, and guiding a high-performing team to achieve branch goals.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Minimum of three years of experience in a related banking role; specialized banking education preferred.
• Demonstrated management and supervisory capabilities with ability to lead, coach, and support team performance.
• Proficiency in consultative sales practices, including identifying client needs and recommending products and services.
• Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Active Nationwide Multistate Licensing System and Registry (NMLS) registration or ability to secure.

Responsibilities

• Lead branch staff through daily direction, coaching, and performance oversight.
• Strengthen communication, accountability, and development through feedback, mentoring, and performance management.
• Foster a service- and sales-focused culture aligned with branch goals and team engagement.
• Grow the branch by deepening relationships with existing and prospective business customers.
• Drive deposits, lending, referrals, and cross-sell opportunities through proactive sales efforts.
• Oversee daily branch operations to ensure efficiency and compliance.
