Job summary

Carter Bankshares is seeking an Assistant Branch Manager in Martinsville, VA to lead daily branch operations and grow core deposits and loans. You will mentor staff, ensure exceptional customer service, and collaborate with internal partners to deliver banking solutions.

You will oversee adherence to policies, manage performance, and support the branch manager in onboarding new hires, while delivering positive customer experiences and maintaining safety standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in financial institutions or retail services preferred.
• Proven customer service and/or sales experience.

Responsibilities

• Guide consistent application of the retail operating model, behaviors, and tools.
• Grow core deposits and loans, and increase fee income.
• Mentor branch associates and assess performance.
• Maintain high employee morale and exceptional customer service.
• Oversee product sales and servicing quality and referrals to partners.
