Job Description

The Branch Fleet Technician will be responsible for maintaining diesel equipment and hydrovac operation by performing inspections, preventive maintenance, and necessary adjustments and alignments. Corrects vehicle deficiencies and keeps accurate records with guidance and direction. Manages work orders in Fleetio to ensure comprehensive documentation and tracking. This role is crucial for ensuring the reliability and efficiency of diesel equipment, ultimately supporting the overall operational success of the organization.

Salary: The salary for this position will be commensurate with education and/or work experience.

Responsibilities

What You'll Be Doing:

  1. Performs inspection, diagnosis, and repair of assigned vehicles and equipment, including preventative maintenance such as oil changes and greasing of trucks.
  2. Conducts safety checks on trucks.
  3. Maintains clear communication with the Branch Manager, Regional Fleet Staff, and other maintenance department staff.
  4. Ensures the Hydrovac Fleet operates efficiently by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, maintaining supplies, and performing preventive maintenance.
  5. Updates job knowledge through educational opportunities and reading technical and regulation publications.
  6. Occasionally performs service calls for emergency breakdowns.
  7. Maintains a clean and safe work area in compliance with Corporate/OSHA Standards and adheres to established procedures.
Qualifications

What We're Looking For:

  • High School Diploma required.
  • Licensed Heavy Duty Technician.
  • Driver's License required; Class B CDL license preferred.
  • Physical demands include sitting, standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, bending, lifting, reaching, crawling under vehicles, climbing ladders, working in tight spaces, and lifting/moving objects weighing 25-50 lbs.
  • Work may require more than 40 hours per week.
What You'll Need For Success:
  • Knowledge of electronic diagnostics.
  • Experience with Peterbilt and Western Star chassis is a plus.
  • Experience troubleshooting Hydrovac equipment is a plus.
  • Knowledge of DOT compliance, laws, rules, regulations, and safety.
  • Proficient in Fleetio, Microsoft Office, Outlook, and Excel.
  • Own standard tools; specialty tools will be provided.
