Tompkins Bank & Trust in Ithaca, NY seeks a flexible Teller to support multiple branches, travel as needed, and provide friendly service while processing a variety of transactions.

You will greet customers, handle deposits and withdrawals, payments, and transfers, and contribute to branch sales goals by offering bank products and services. The role requires accuracy, cash handling experience, and strong customer service skills.

Qualifications

• A High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Minimum 1 year experience in cash handling and/or customer service, with some experience as a CSR.
• Active Nationwide Multistate Licensing System and Registry (NMLS) registration, or the ability to secure registration upon hire.
• Moderate reading, writing and grammar skills; proficient accounting, analytical and mathematics skills.
• Proficient PC skills.
• Proficient interpersonal relations, communicative and sales skills.

Responsibilities

• Travel between branches to support teller line and platform staffing as needed.
• Greet and assist each customer in a friendly and courteous manner.
• Process deposits, cash checks, withdrawals and other payments.
• Sell Official Checks and Money Orders; redeem Savings Bonds; issue cash advances.
• Transfer funds between accounts; balance cash drawer daily.
• Prepare daily settlements and proofs of cash; review reports (CTRs, Bank Secrecy).
• Process night, mail, ATM and courier deposits; balance ATM machines.
• Float to other branches as needed to meet business needs.
• Assist in new account documentation and branch sales objectives; provide customer service information for performance reports.
