Job summary

Newtown Savings Bank in Shelton, CT is seeking a Universal Banker II to join our team. The banker will provide expert customer service, drive deposits and loan opportunities, and support branch leadership in daily operations within the Shelton branch.

The role emphasizes proactive relationship building, cross-selling banking products, processing applications, and maintaining compliance with banking regulations. Strong communication and supervisory potential are valued traits.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Two years of relevant customer service and/or sales experience preferred.
• Sales experience preferred.
• Banking experience preferred.
• Customer service experience preferred.
• Supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide prompt and courteous service to all customers; resolve complaints or refer to Branch Management as needed.
• Solicit new business by identifying needs and recommending appropriate deposit products and services.
• Develop new account relationships and process loan and credit card applications.
• Assist in achieving branch operational and sales goals with leadership in the absence of the Customer Experience Manager.
• Assist with weekly branch scheduling to ensure adequate staffing.
• Support compliance with CIP, BSA, AML and OFAC procedures and complete training on time.
• Oversee daily branch operations including audits, teller transactions, and cash handling.
• Contribute to staff development and performance reviews; participate in staff meetings and sales initiatives.
