Modine Manufacturing Company is seeking a Brake Press Operator (2nd Shift) at our Natural Bridge, VA site. The role involves setting up and operating a press brake, bending and cutting metal according to blueprints, while ensuring parts meet quality standards through ongoing adjustments and inspections.

Location is in-person at 43 Douglas Way, Natural Bridge. Second shift runs 3PM–11PM, weekdays with possible weekend overtime; starting pay is $24.23/hr with a raise to $26.23/hr after 9 months

Qualifications

• Experience with press or related equipment preferred; willing to train.
• Requires ability to read and interpret blueprints, prints, and CAD models.
• Basic measurement and inspection skills to ensure part quality.

Position Description

The press brake operator is responsible for setting up and operating a press brake machine to bend, shape, or cut metal sheets and plates according to blueprints and specifications, ensuring the produced parts meet quality standards by performing necessary adjustments and inspections throughout the manufacturing process.

• Location : In person, onsite, at 43 Douglas Way, Natural Bridge, VA 24579
• Hours : 2nd Shift: 3PM - 11 PM, M-F with OT available as needed on weekends
• Pay : Starting Rate is $24.23/hour after 9 months the pay rate will increase to $26.23
• Shift Differential : $1.00 per hour for hours worked during 2nd shift.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up machines and tooling (punches and dies) using work orders, verbal instruction, or blueprints
• Operate CNC press brake machine to fabricate, bend, form, or cut metal parts for internal orders
• Inspect and measure finished parts with tools to ensure they meet quality standards
• Maintain and clean machinery before and after shifts, and performing minor adjustments
• Follow safety protocols and wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE) to prevent hazards
• Report issues such as machine malfunctions or quality problems to supervisors
• Perform other duties as assigned

Required Education & Qualifications

• Previous press or related experience preferred; willing to train the right person
• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Production experience in a make-to-order assembly role is preferred
• Ability to read and interpret prints, assembly checks and CAD models in order to meet production specifications preferred
