Job summary

Accurate Personnel is seeking a Brake Press Operator in Chicago, IL to set up and operate press brakes and related forming equipment. The role requires reading blueprints, selecting tooling, and ensuring parts meet tolerances in a fast-paced fabrication environment.

The ideal candidate will have setup experience on press brakes, be detail-oriented, and able to lift up to 50 lbs. This is a full-time position with excellent benefits and a focus on quality output.

• General knowledge of sheet metal fabrication processes (laser, punching, welding)

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate press brake machines (and related forming equipment) to bend, form, and shape various gauges of sheet metal to meet tolerances.
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, job travelers, and work orders to determine forming requirements, bend sequences, and tolerances
• Select appropriate dies, tooling, and machine settings for different materials and thicknesses
• Perform test bends, measure parts with precision tools, and adjust to ensure parts meet specifications
• Inspect formed parts for quality, accuracy, and defects; collaborate with supervision as needed
• Maintain equipment and keep a clean, safe work area

HIRING IMMEDIATELY: BRAKE PRESS OPERATOR IN CHICAGO, IL

Accurate Personnel is hiring immediately for a Brake Press Operator to join our team in Chicago, Illinois. This individual will be responsible for setting up and operating press brakes and other forming equipment to bend, shape, and form sheet metal components according to blueprints, engineering drawings, and quality specifications. The ideal candidate will possess the ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints, setup experience on press brakes, and more listed below.

Pay, Schedule, and Location

• Starting at $20/hour
• Excellent benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision
• Full time hours
• Located in Chicago, Illinois

Duties and Responsibilities

• Set up and operate press brake machines (and related forming equipment) to bend, form, and shape various gauges of sheet metal (e.g., CRS/HRPO steel, aluminum, stainless, galvanneal)
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, job travelers, and work orders to determine forming requirements, bend sequences, and tolerances
• Select appropriate dies, tooling, and machine settings for different materials and thicknesses
• Perform test bends, measure parts with precision tools (calipers, protractors, etc.), and adjust to ensure parts meet specifications
• Inspect formed parts for quality, accuracy, and defects; collaborate with Fabrication Supervisor and Plant Manager as needed
• Work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, handling both small custom runs and larger production volumes
• Maintain equipment, perform basic preventive maintenance, and keep a clean, safe work area
• Collaborate with the Fabrication Supervisor to ensure a smooth workflow
• Accurately record time, materials, and production data in our system
