Job summary

Siemens in Wendell, NC is seeking a Brake Press Machine Operator II to join the 2nd shift. You will operate a Trumpf Press Brake, read 2D/3D drawings, and set up bending programs to form metal parts according to specifications.

The role requires basic math, blueprint literacy, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Training starts on the 1st shift before moving to 2nd shift; candidate must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of brake press setup and operation.
• Ability to read 2D and 3D blueprints and apply basic shop math.
• Must be physically able to stand, lift 50 lbs, and perform bending operations.
• Legal to work in the United States without sponsorship.
• English literacy required.

We are looking for a Brake Press Machine Operator II to join our 2nd shift team. This position will be based at our Wendell, NC location.

Shift Hours:

3:00PM- 11:30PM

Hourly Rate:

$24.79 + $1.50 Shift Differential

Please Note:

You will train on the 1st shift for a period of time, at the manager’s discretion, before moving over to the 2nd shift.

You’ll win us over by having the following qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

• 1+ year of experience in Brake Press setup and operation; experience with selecting and changing Press Brake tooling.
• Must have in depth knowledge of flat pattern layout and bend deductions/allowances; must be able to calculate tonnage requirements for various sheet metal parts.
• Must be able to independently analyze and solve problems as they arise bending sheet metal parts.
• Must be able to read 2D & 3D blueprints, apply basic shop math, digital literacy, and use of basic mechanical/measuring tools.
• Speak, read, write, and comprehend the English language; work standing for the duration of a shift; stoop, bend, squat, crawl, and climb.
• Must be able to reach, grasp, lift 50lbs, and push/pull/slide material
• Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications:

• High School diploma or equivalent

You’llmake an impact by:

• Operate a Trumpf Press Brake; perform simple Brake press setups to form steel, aluminum, galvanized and copper per engineering drawing specifications.
• Load, set up and run offline programs for bending metal parts.
• Work directly with or under the direction of a Group Lead and/or Supervisor.
• Read engineering drawings for steel, aluminum & galvanized parts; work with ISO/work standards.
• Complete confirmation documentation in a manufacturing data management system; access and utilize various documents, with the use of computers, associated with the manufacture of products in assembly for completion of confirmations (e.g., Quality and Safety Documents, Operating Instructions, Production sequences, Part Drawings, etc.).
• Clean and maintain equipment and work area to ensure functioning and safe working conditions.
