Job summary

The Guldner Laboratory at the Salk Institute for Biological Studies seeks a highly motivated Postdoctoral Fellow to investigate brain aging, neurodegeneration, and intercellular communication. You will design, conduct, and lead research crossing aging biology, neuroscience, and proteostasis in vivo and in vitro.

Responsibilities include developing experiments, interpreting data, publishing findings, and mentoring students within a collaborative, ethical research environment.

Qualifications

• PhD, MD, or equivalent doctoral degree in neuroscience or related fields.
• Peer-reviewed publications demonstrating scientific achievement.
• Strong experimental design and molecular/cellular biology skills, in vivo and in vitro.

Responsibilities

• Design, conduct, and analyze original research projects.
• Develop experimental approaches to address scientific questions.
• Interpret findings for publications, presentations, and scientific meetings.
• Collaborate with faculty, staff scientists, postdocs, students, and external partners.
• Maintain accurate and detailed research records.
• Contribute to laboratory operations, scientific discussions, and mentoring.
• Stay informed of emerging scientific developments and literature.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
