Job summary
The Research Assistant I at the Salk Institute supports the Guldner Lab's work on how cells communicate via proteins, especially during aging and neurodegeneration. You will perform standard molecular biology procedures, manage samples, assist with mouse-related studies, collect data, and support general lab operations.

Qualifications
- No professional experience required.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences or related field; 2 years in a scientific role if degree in another discipline.
- Computer skills: Microsoft Office; R Studio; Accounting Software; Inventory Software.
- Preferred: Lab internships and experience with mice, molecular biology, in vivo research, and proteomics.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine molecular and cellular biology procedures supporting intercellular protein communication, aging, and neurodegeneration studies.
- Support mouse-related experiments, including treatment, behavioral analyses, and tissue collection.
- Assist with DNA/RNA preparation, PCR, protein prep, and other established assays.
- Maintain accurate experimental records and organize data.
