Job summary

Cypress-Fairbanks Independent School District is seeking an Aide/Paraprofessional for 2026-2027 Braille VI Fall Vacancies. Starting immediately, candidates must have a high school diploma or GED, experience with children, strong communication skills, professional appearance, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities include translating worksheets into Braille, transcribing back to print, creating tactile maps, using Braille software, and traveling between schools.

Qualifications

• High school graduation or GED required.
• Experience with children preferred.
• Must be flexible and able to adjust daily routine.
• Demonstrate effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Professional appearance and attitude required.
• Physically able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Must have 48 college hours or an associates or higher, or CFISD proficiency test (70+).

Responsibilities

• Translate student worksheets and materials into Braille using Braille tools.
• Transcribe Braille back into print.
• Create tactile representations of maps and diagrams.
• Use Braille software proficiently.
• Travel between schools and Braille production center.
• Inform VI staff of any production needs.
• Follow team decisions and established procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned and maintain reliable attendance.
