Qualifications

• Proof of high school graduation or GED equivalent.
• Experience working with children preferred.
• Ability to speak, read and understand the assigned language.
• Flexible and able to adjust your daily routine.
• Demonstrate effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrate a professional appearance and attitude.
• Physically able to lift, carry, push and pull up to 50 pounds.
• Must have one of: 48 hours of college credits, OR Associates or higher degree, OR CFISD proficiency test (score 70+).

Responsibilities

• Translate student and parent communications for the classroom teacher in assigned language.
• Assist students to communicate with campus staff.
• Assist teacher in preparing instructional materials and classroom displays.
• Assist with administration and scoring of objective testing instruments or work assignments.
• Translate words, ideas and concepts between languages for teachers, students and parents.
• Help maintain neat and orderly classroom.
• Help with inventory, care, and maintenance of equipment, books, and supplies.
• Help teacher keep administrative records and prepare required reports.
• Provide orientation and assistance to substitute teachers.
• Conduct instructional exercises assigned by the teacher; work with individual students or small groups.
• Help supervise students throughout school day, inside and outside classroom.
