Qualifications

• Ability to maintain effective relationships with students, staff, and community.
• Knowledge of fundamental principles of the sport.
• Ability to adhere to administrative policies and directives of the program.

Responsibilities

• Assists with organizational meetings for team prospects and encourages potential athletes to participate in the sport.
• Assists with assessment of player’s skills and assigning team positions.
• Develops regular practice schedules and organizes practice time for individual and team development.
• Coaches and instructs players on rules, equipment and techniques of the sport.
• Observes players during competition and practice and reports needs for development.
• Assists with determining game strategy based on the team’s capabilities.
• Maintains standards of student athlete behavior and supervises athletes.
• Monitors academic performance to ensure eligibility and fosters high academic standards.
• Follows procedures for athlete injury and safety.
