Job summary

Scottsdale Unified School District is seeking a part-time coach to develop game strategies and teach technique to student athletes. The role includes planning practices, coordinating with the athletics director for facility use and promoting sportsmanship and teamwork.

The coach will monitor academics, enforce safety standards, and communicate with families as needed. Certification requirements include DPS FPCC, NFHS Level I and CPR, with preference for a coaching certificate.

Qualifications

• Coaching duties align with district policies and safety rules.
• Preference for those with coaching experience and proper certifications.
• Ability to mentor student athletes academically and athletically.

Responsibilities

• Holds organizational meetings for team prospects and encourages participation.
• Assesses players' skills and assigns team positions.
• Develops practice schedules for individual and team development.
• Works with the athletics director to schedule facilities.
• Instructs players on sport rules, equipment and techniques.
• Monitors academic performance to ensure eligibility.
• Conveys expectations to parents/guardians as needed.
• Maintains equipment, uniforms and inventory; coordinates awards.
